Oaklander Model Across the Life Span: Applications to Young Children through Adulthood

Learning Objectives:
Participants will:
Review and apply developmental theory to using Gestalt Play Therapy to children, teens and adults.
Learn how to use Gestalt Play Therapy to understand and effectively and respectfully address resistance in therapy with children, teens and adults.
Identify and recognize the differences using Gestalt Play Therapy with children, adolescents and adults at different stages of development.
Understand how to apply the principles of Gestalt Play Therapy to working with parents of children at different developmental levels.
Identify and acknowledge there is great diversity in how children, teens and adults access and process what is available to them in their environment. By understanding the this variability, participants can practice in a manner that Gestalt Play Therapy is accessible to all clients that could benefit from this model.
Our learning objectives:
Identify and address issues in working with young children 4-7
Identify and address the issues in working with children from 8-12
Identify and address the issues in working with teens
Identify and address the issues in working with adults
Learn theory and practice for the types of scripts and variations of the Oaklander Model interventions
Understand and learn how to effectively address resistance according to each age group
Identify and learn how to work with parents of each phase of development.
