Violet Oaklander provided a blend of theory and experience to train therapists in her model of Gestalt Play Therapy.
Karen Fried offers training, supervision/consultation and presentations on how to use the Oaklander Model in your own work with children, adolescents, and their families.
All offerings continue Violet's tone of fun, educational and experiential training for therapists featuring a variety of materials including drawing, puppets, clay, sand tray, picture cards and more!
We welcome attendees with different experience levels, coming from all over the world.

About the Instructor
Karen Hillman Fried, Psy.D., M.F.T (MFT30667)
Karen Fried, Psy.D., M.F.T. is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and an Educational Therapist in Santa Monica, California. She has a private practice in Psychotherapy and is Co-Director of the K&M Center. Inc., a learning center providing educational and remedial services to students ranging from four years old to college age. Karen uses the Oaklander Model of Child Therapy in her practice and is the President of the Violet Solomon Oaklander Foundation. She trains child and adolescent therapists in this model in the US and internationally.

Continuing Education
Trainings meet the qualifications for continuing education for LMFT’s and LCSW’s as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
Trainings meet the qualifications for continuing education towards certification from the Violet Solomon Oaklander Foundation (VSOF).
Virtual Trainings meet the qualifications for contact hours of continuing education via live webinar for the Association for Play Therapists. In-Person Trainings meet the qualifications for contact hours of continuing education for the Association for Play Therapists. Play therapy credit may not be awarded to non-mental health professionals. APT Approved Provider 21-640.

Cancellation Policy
In the event you are unable to attend a training that you have registered for, please email us as soon as possible. Cancellations made 30 days in advance of the start of the training will be issued a full refund minus a $25 administration fee. Cancellations made within 30 days of the start of the training are subject to a $100 fee.
